Ansari is vice-president

The UPA-Left-BSP candidate, Mohammad Hamid Ansari, was elected on Friday as the new vice-president of India.
Mr Ansari defeated NDA’s Nazma Heptullah and UNPA nominee Rashid Masood. Mr Ansari got 455 votes as against 222 secured by Ms Heptullah, while Mr Masood finished a poor third with 75 votes.
