The Election Commission has directed all the political parties to seek prior permission about election campaigning on electronic channels and cable network in the Uttar Pradesh.
To a question whether the commission’s ban would also affect super star Amitabh Bachchan’s advertisement in favour of the Samajwadi Party on electronic channels, chief electoral officer AK Bishnoi said the commission’s order was clear on prior permission for all types of advertisements.
