Women MPs cause furore in Parliament over Women Reservation Bill

Rajya Sabha women MPs stalled the proceedings on the last day of the Winter Session on Tuesday in a protest against the Government’s failure to re-introduce a Bill that would provide reservation to women in Parliament and State legislatures.
A bill to provide 33 per cent reservation for women in Parliament and State legislatures has been pending since 1996.
